Operational limitations

Use as a planning aid only.

Do not use Chris Flight Planner as the sole source for flight planning, weather, navigation, traffic avoidance, emergency procedures, legal compliance, or aeronautical decision-making.

Pilot responsibility

The pilot in command remains responsible for obtaining and evaluating all information required for the proposed flight, confirming aircraft performance and limitations, and determining whether the flight can be conducted safely and legally.

No official briefing

The application does not currently provide or claim to provide an official or recorded FAA weather briefing. Obtain an appropriate briefing through an accepted provider when required.

No navigation or traffic separation

The map and route display are not certified navigation equipment. Any future traffic display must be treated as incomplete and delayed unless expressly connected to approved onboard equipment and used within that equipment's limitations.

Aircraft procedures

Emergency checklist material must be copied from the current, applicable POH/AFM and approved supplements. Generic checklist text is not a substitute for manufacturer-approved procedures.

Data outages

Internet access, upstream APIs, map tiles, browser storage, and hosting services can fail. Missing or stale information must never be interpreted as confirmation that no hazard exists.

Supplemental traffic display

Internet and receiver traffic may be delayed, incomplete, incorrectly identified, or absent. Do not use Above The Lakes for collision avoidance, traffic separation, or as a substitute for visual scanning and approved onboard traffic equipment.
