About the project

A focused preflight planning workspace.

Above The Lakes Electronic Flight Bag is being developed as a public web application for preliminary route, fuel, time, weather, navigation-log, and emergency-preparation work. The goal is to combine useful planning tools without hiding data sources, timestamps, or calculation assumptions.

Current release

The current release is an early public beta. It includes a starter airport database, multi-leg route calculations, METAR and TAF retrieval, preliminary fuel estimates, printable navigation logs, and a personal emergency-checklist workspace.

Planned development

Future releases are intended to add complete FAA airport data, runway and frequency information, winds aloft, expanded advisories, NOTAM and TFR layers, aircraft performance profiles, weight and balance, route alerts, and optional user accounts.

Important: The application is not currently an FAA-approved briefing provider, certified EFB, navigation system, or replacement for the aircraft POH/AFM, Flight Service, ATC, or approved onboard equipment.
